Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt has drawn the ire of senior figures in his state, including Governor Brian Sandoval and Gaming Control Board chairman A. G. Burnett, after stating his support for efforts to ban online gaming under the Wire Act.

Speaking to veteran Las Vegas reported Jon Ralston for his weekday TV news programme Ralston Live, Laxalt said that he supports a letter circulated among Attorneys General urging Congress to clarify that the Wire Act prohibits all forms of internet gambling.
