Alabama lawmakers are making a fresh attempt to establish a lottery in the state after Democratic Representative Craig Ford introduced new draft legislation that is set for its first reading on February 2nd.

House minority leader Ford’s bill proposes to amend Section 65 of the Constitution of Alabama to establish the Alabama Lottery Corporation, regulate the operation of such a lottery and prohibit the operation of casinos in the state.
