A nineteen year-old female cricketer has been hit with a six month ban from the sport as part of Cricket Australia’s (CA) crackdown against players betting on matches.

Western Australia and Perth Scorchers fast bowler Piepa Cleary was given a 24-month ban – 18 months of which are suspended – for placing six bets worth AUD$15.50 on cricket, after she was charged with breaching Cricket Australia’s anti-corruption code.
