Friday July 1st marked the fourth anniversary of the German State Treaty on Gambling, with the market still unregulated and not a single gambling licence issued, yet German politicians cannot even agree on the need for reform.

The "sad anniversary" was marked by a speech by Schleswig-Holstein Freie Demokratische Partei (FDP) parliamentary leader Wolfgang Kubicki, who took the opportunity to condemn the failure of the legislation.
