Irish professional snooker player Leo Fernandez has been banned from the sport for 15 months after admitting to a betting-related corruption charge.
Fernandez was found to have deliberately played a foul shot during a match at the World Championship Qualifiers in Sheffield on April 6th, so that others could make money through betting.
This offence directly contravenes World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) rules, which state that no player may attempt “to fix or contrive, or to [...]
