French gambling regulator ARJEL has hailed the effectiveness of the integrity platform launched to monitor attempted manipulation of the UEFA Euro 2016 championship, which it said attracted close to €300m in bets.
ARJEL described the tournament as the most important betting event to have been held in France since the passage of iGaming legislation in 2010, with a total of €297m in bets across France, €141.2m of which was placed online.
During the 2012 tournament, just €31m was wagered online in France.
