A ruling by the Court of Finance in the city of Münster could see all German players taxed on their poker winnings after it ruled that poker tournament and cash game activity constitutes a commercial enterprise.

The 14th Senate of the Finanzgericht Münster issued its ruling in a dispute over an unnamed players' winnings between 2005 and 2007. The amount won by the player was not disclosed, although it was significant enough to have been reported in the press.
