New Jersey's battle to allow sports betting has gained the support of Attorneys General in five states who have filed an amicus brief backing its appeal to the Supreme Court.

An appeal to the Supreme Court of the US was filed in October after the Third Circuit Appeals Court ruled that New Jersey was unable to partially repeal state law to legalise betting.

New Jersey has secured the support of West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrissey, who filed the brief with the Supreme Court. The brief is backed by Arizona AG Mark Brnovich, Louisiana's Jeff Landry, Mississippi's Jim Hood and Wisconsin's Brad Schimel.
