Canadian provincial lottery operator the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) has pledged to "aggressively defend" itself against allegations that it knowingly misleads players through its video lottery terminal (VLT) estate.

The lottery faces a class action lawsuit brought by more than 30,000 VLT players in Newfoundland and Labrador, which claims that players were falsely given the impression that they were getting closer to a win in order to keep them spending.
