iGaming platform provider and content developer EveryMatrix has been approved to work with clients in the regulated Romanian iGaming market after securing gaming  licences from the country's regulator, the National Gambling Office (ONJN).

The Class II licences allow the supplier to provide licensed operators with gambling solutions, platform management and hosting facilities, and adds to EveryMatrix's existing licences in the UK, Denmark, Malta and the Republic of Ireland.

Following the passage of new gambling legislation in May last year, a number of suppliers have been approved to offer their services in Romania, including NYX Gaming Group and Relax Gaming, and more recently Bit8 and BetConstruct.

Operators including GVC Holdings, PokerStars and Fortuna Entertainment are currently active in the country.

"Our access to the Romanian market comes as a natural consequence of our long-time investment in this country," EveryMatrix chief executive Ebbe Groes said. "I am proud to say that Romania shelters our largest EveryMatrix office, with more than 50 per cent of our employees working in the heart of Bucharest.

"At the same time, Romania is one of the largest European countries and it is therefore an important addition to our portfolio," he explained.
