New Zealand introduces bill to tax offshore betting

The government of New Zealand unveiled legislation Tuesday to amend the country's Racing Act, introducing betting information usage fees and a point of consumption tax on racing and sporting bets.

The Racing Amendment Bill reflects the recommendations of the Offshore Racing and Sports Betting Working Group, which was established in 2015 to review the impact of offshore gambling.
