The deputy leader of Britain's Labour Party has urged gambling providers to increase their contributions to problem gambling support services or risk the imposition of a compulsory levy under any future Labour government.

Deputy leader Tom Watson, who also serves as the Shadow Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, said in a speech to the Labour Party conference Tuesday that gambling providers should be doing more to protect problem gamblers.
