Toronto-listed gaming operator The Stars Group has been hit with a €400,000 fine for offering online poker games to Dutch consumers without a local license.
The fine issued on Monday also jeopardises the company’s ability to secure a license in the re-regulating Dutch market, where the new gambling legislation includes up to a two-year licensing prohibition for operators who have previously served the market without a license.
