The recent federal court ruling on social casino games in Washington state has opened the door to class action lawsuits against the industry's leading operators.

The ruling issued in March by the US Court of Appeals for the ninth circuit stated that free-to-play social casino games such as those offered by Big Fish Casino constitute illegal online gambling under Washington state law, including the Recovery of Money Lost at Gambling Act (RMLGA) and the Washington Consumer Protection Act.
