The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has called on operators to collaborate on a new project to explore whether some gambling products and environments are more harmful than others.

Jointly supported by the UKGC’s advisors, the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board (RGSB), and commissioned by GambleAware, information about consumer gambling activity will be used as part of an extensive research project.

Licensed operators will be asked to provide data to be used to understand how products, environments and characteristics vary, and identify those more associated with harmful play.
