GVC's resurgent partypoker brand is set to resume operations in the Czech Republic after a twenty-one month absence.

partypoker suspended operations in the Czech market in February 2017, pending approval of its license application.

GVC subsequently withdrew its application in May 2017, citing the country's "opaque licensing process".

The company is now set to renter the market after securing approval for partypoker.cz on November 10th, going up against PokerStars and SynotTip as the country's only active authorised online poker providers.

PokerStars has been active in the market since January 2017, having secured the country's first online poker and casino license, with SynotTip recently securing license approval on October 30th.

Shares in GVC Holdings plc. (LSE:GVC) were trading down 2.80 per cent at 798.00 pence per share in London Thursday morning.
