New York-listed supplier International Game Technology (IGT) has received final regulatory approval for its PlayShot retail sports betting solution.

IGT’s PlayShot successfully completed the final stage of Nevada regulatory approval through a mandatory field trial for the on-property sports betting platform.

Throughout the field trial, PlayShot powered over-the-counter betting services at ten casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. The trial also included the testing of IGT’s proprietary MarkSense Technology, a solution that enables operators to design and print parlay sheets and promotions on demand.

The approval means that the PlayShot solution is now fully approved for deployment throughout Nevada, with its mobile channel having already received regulatory approval last year.

“Gaining full regulatory approval in Nevada for IGT’s integrated PlayShot sports betting solution enables our customers throughout the state to benefit from its seamless integration of retail and mobile betting technologies in a single solution,” said Enrico Drago, IGT senior vice president PlayDigital.

“Our customers throughout the US recognize the power of the PlayShot technology, and view the hub-and-spoke design of the scalable platform as an important advantage for pursuing sports betting business opportunities in multiple states.”

IGT’s PlayShot sports betting platform has now been approved to power sports betting in four US states including Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi, and West Virginia.

Shares in International Game Technology plc (NSQ:IGT) closed up 6.17 per cent at $16.68 per share in New York Monday.
