The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has launched a new consultation as the regulator looks to develop a new national strategy to reduce gambling harm.

The current National Responsible Gambling Strategy (NRGS) comes to an end in March 2019, with the UKGC looking to work together with government, public health, the charitable sector, and gambling businesses.

The NRGS was developed by the UKGC’s advisers, the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board (RGSB). Under the current arrangements, the strategy can be ‘adopted’ by the regulator in part or in full, although in practice this process has been informal.
