Fourteen US states have joined the fight to oppose the Department of Justice (DOJ) Opinion that the federal Wire Act’s prohibitions extend to all types of bets and wagers.

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel both filed an amicus brief Monday challenging the opinion, joining the New Hampshire Lottery Commission in its federal lawsuit.

Twelve jurisdictions have joined Michigan in support of the New Hampshire Lottery Commission in two consolidated cases - New Hampshire Lottery Commission v. Dep’t. of Justice and NeoPollard Interactive LLC and Pollard Banknote Limited v. Dep’t. of Justice.
