New Zealand will overhaul its horseracing industry this year through a number of legislative actions to ensure the sustainability of the industry and to provide a return to the sport from offshore bookmakers.

New Zealand Racing Minister Winston Peters said Wednesday that the government will introduce two bills this year to revitalise the domestic racing industry as part of its response to the 2018 Messara Review of the Racing Industry.
