Congressman Hank Johnson of Georgia has introduced an amendment in the US House of Representatives to deny funding to the Department of Justice in relation to enforcement of its interpretation of the Wire Act.
The proposed amendment is in response to the Department of Justice Opinion of 2018 which reinterpreted the scope of the Wire Act to include lotteries and gaming, and the recent ruling in New Hampshire district court to set the Opinion aside.
