Online gaming operators active in the Netherlands gambling market will have to abide by a new age verification requirement effective 1 January 2020.
The country’s new gambling legislation, which will allow online operators to secure a local license for the first time, is expected to come into force on 1 January 2021, followed by a six-month period to consider license applications ahead of the market opening on 1 July 2021.
