Australia latest to shut down gaming venues with restrictions lasting up to six months

Casinos in Australia could be closed for up to six months under new restrictions brought into force to contain the spread of COVID-19, including the shutdown of non-essential activities across the country.

In a National Cabinet meeting Sunday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison and state and territory leaders agreed to implement new Stage 1 restrictions on social gatherings, with non-essential activities suspended across the country.
