German online lottery brokerage Lotto24 has launched a new app that allows customers to play the country’s lottery games on smartphone and tablet devices.
The free-to-download app comes with all the functionality of the online offering available via Lotto24.de, and offers additional information such as current jackpot sizes, the odds of winning and a countdown to the next draw.
It also allows players to use the Quick Tip feature to randomly select numbers, and gives the option for push notifications about winnings or draw results. All money won through the app is automatically credited to the customer’s account.
While Lotto24 claims the product is the first mobile lottery app to be released in Germany, it closely follows the release of an app by the state lottery of Nordrhein-Westphalia, WestLotto, which launched earlier this month.
But unlike the WestLotto app, new Lotto24 players can sign up for a lottery account within the app. It also features a wider range of lottery products including Spiel 77, Super 6, and Glücksspirale alongside the LOTTO 6aus49 and EuroJackpot draws available through WestLotto’s product.
The Lotto24 app also offers three payment options, Mastercard, Visa and EC card, through its fully encrypted payment system.
Lotto24 chief executive Petra von Strombeck commented that she was delighted that the company could offer Germany’s 20 million or so lottery players the ability to bet via mobile devices.
“The Lotto24 app is fully in line with the growing trend of mobile internet usage,” von Strombeck explained. “After the successful launch of the app, Lotto24 plans to provide regular updates to ensure Lotto fans always receive the best-possible service - wherever and whenever they need it.”
