Lotteries and gaming supplier GTECH has extended its partnerships with Germany’s Westdeutsche Lotterie (WestLotto) and the Minnesota State Lottery to continue to serve as the primary provider of instant ticket printing and related services.

The company has agreed a two-year extension to its partnership with WestLotto, which will see it continue with instant ticket printing as well as serving as a consultant for business intelligence, marketing, game planning and strategy until May 29th, 2016.

The companies have worked together for the past ten years with GTECH serving as the lottery’s provider of draw-based lottery products and services.

The company’s senior vice president and chief operating officer for North America Alan Eland said the German market was very important to GTECH, and that he was proud to have renewed its partnership with the largest lottery in the country.

“This contract is a direct result of GTECH’s dedication to supporting the growth of WestLotto’s business over the past four years,” Eland explained. “We will continue to focus on this market by offering an extensive portfolio of solutions that will help drive the Lottery’s instant-ticket business.”

WestLotto deputy managing director Detlef Nagel said his company had benefitted from GTECH’s expertise and support over the course of their partnership.

“WestLotto is confident that GTECH will continue to provide superior products and services to support our growth,” Nagel added.

The supplier has also agreed a one-year extension to its partnership with the Minnesota State Lottery to supply instant ticket printing services.

It has worked with the lottery since December 2011, when it was awarded a contract to serve as secondary instant ticket vendor, with the option for two one-year extensions. Alongside instant tickets, GTECH supplies the lottery with prize structure development, customised sales data analysis, game planning and strategy.

“GTECH and the Minnesota State Lottery have a longstanding relationship, and the Lottery’s decision to continue working with GTECH is further evidence that our customer first philosophy and ability to deliver quality instant ticket products and services are recognized by our customers,” Eland said. “GTECH looks forward to continued collaboration with the Lottery in achieving even greater results for the good causes they support.”
