Lottery giant GTECH has secured the worldwide rights to develop lottery games based on the popular TV game shows Wheel of Fortune and JEOPARDY! through a deal with Sony Pictures Consumer Products.

The deal comes into force on January 1st, 2015, and grants GTECH multi-year property-licensing rights to the iconic television shows.

In addition to instant scratch tickets and draw games based on the shows, GTECH will also develop second chance promotions and other interactive experiences for lottery customers.

Wheel of Fortune has been the number one syndicated game show in the US since its inception and still commands more than 26 million viewers each week. JEOPARDY! attracts more than nine million viewers a day and has won more than 30 Emmy awards in its 31-year run.

Shares in GTECH S.p.A. (Co. Data) (MIB:GTK) were trading up 1.46 per cent in Milan early Monday at €18.74 per share.
