Canada’s Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) has expanded its long-term partnership with Scientific Games, signing a new five-year deal to take delivery of its online and land-based lottery solutions.
The deal will see the lottery’s existing systems converted to Scientific Games’ AGEIS NGS lottery gaming system and Sciplay iLottery solution in mid-2017, with the supplier also providing ongoing monitoring and maintenance support.
The five year agreement includes the option to extend the term of the contract for an additional 15 years, and expands Scientific Games' presence to around 70 per cent of Canadian provinces.
“We are delighted to continue innovating with Scientific Games to bring entertaining lottery games to Atlantic Canadian players through technology that both serves us today and leads us into the future,” ALC president and chief executive Brent Scrimshaw said of the new partnership.
“Our conversion to the AEGIS NGS and Sciplay systems will provide ALC with the opportunity to securely and responsibly grow through traditional retail channels, and now mobile, internet and emerging channels,” he explained.
Scientific Games’ senior vice president of North American lottery sales Pat McHugh said the combination of the AEGIS NGS and iLottery solutions would allow ALC to offer a completely integrated technology solution and a broad portfolio of traditional and digital lottery products.
“ALC will be well-positioned to become an industry leader in multi-channel player engagement and promotions that can successfully grow their business,” he said.
