US lottery and gaming supplier Scientific Games has extended its long-running partnership with the Arizona lottery to supply instant games and related services until January 2016.

The companies have worked together since 1981 and under the terms of the extension, Scientific Games will provide design, programming and production of instant games for the lottery, including games based on The Walking Dead, Monopoly and Slingo.

It will also provide related services such as second chance draw administration, website marketing and support, as well as merchandise prizes and fulfilment.

Arizona Lottery executive director Tony Bouie said that having worked with Scientific Games for more than 30 years, he looked forward to continuing the partnership.

“Their products, services, and strategic recommendations have helped the Arizona Lottery grow year after year,” Bouie explained. “This has returned important dollars to support economic and business development, education, environment, and public health and welfare in our state.”

In 2014 the lottery generated $713m in total retail sales, with $513m of this sum coming from instant product sales alone.

“Scientific Games is honored to continue our successful partnership with the Arizona Lottery,” Scientific Games senior vice president of instant products John Schulz said. “We look forward to providing the Lottery and players in Arizona even more creative and engaging instant games and 2nd Chance drawings over the next year through this important contract extension.”

Shares in Scientific Games Corp. (Co. Data) (NASDAQ:SGMS) closed in New York Wednesday down 2.04 per cent at $12.95 per share.
