The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) and the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) have launched a pilot scheme that will see 20 instant ticket vending machines launched in Calgary and Edmonton for a year.

The 12-month pilot has begun as part of each organisation’s commitment to meeting customers’ evolving expectations, and will ascertain whether Albertans over the age of 18 are interested in using such self-service technology to purchase lottery scratchcards.

“The AGLC’s job is to ensure Albertans have the best options to consider when spending their entertainment dollar,” AGLC president and chief executive Bill Robinson explained.
