London-listed Chinese lottery supplier DJI Holdings has welcomed last week’s announcement by China’s State Council, the first major policy change for China's lottery industry since online sales were suspended in March, that it will look to streamline the approval process for lottery sales and pay-outs.

DJI viewed the move as providing “significant progress” towards the announcement of new regulation and the recommencement of online lottery sales in the country.

The State Council's public announcement last week outlined its commitment to reduce the time required for the approval and administration of lottery sales and pay-outs, cancelling 62 central authorisation requirements and devolving responsibility to provincial finance departments.
