US gaming and lottery supplier Scientific Games has signed a new multi-year contract to provide its instant games management services platform to the Brandenburg Lottery in Germany.

The company will provide instant product management services through its Cooperative Services Program (CSP) to Land Brandenberg Lotto, the lottery operator for the federal state of Brandenburg, which surrounds but does not include the national capital and city-state Berlin.

The supplier has signed a six-year contract for full-service CSP, which can also be extended for an additional three years.

“Our goal is to optimize the instant product in our lottery jurisdiction by partnering with Scientific Games for instant product management services,” said Anja Bohms, managing director of the Brandenburg Lottery. “Based upon the success rate the company has had in other jurisdictions in Germany and throughout Europe and the US, this strategic partnership will help us organize strong and need-based instant game products in Brandenburg as well."

Scientific Games will advise on the lottery's instant product portfolio and provide product development, design and manufacturing of instant games, as well as warehousing, packaging and distribution.

The supplier currently provides products and services to more than 150 lottery customers in 50 countries, including the 16 state lotteries in Germany. It provides CSP to 20 lotteries globally, including eight in Germany, where it has been providing services for nearly 10 years.

“Instant games are a rising star in Germany and across Europe, and we are delighted to bring our CSP program to Brandenburg to help satisfy the demand of the instant product,” said Jim Kennedy, group CEO of Lottery for Scientific Games. “As of today, over the full-term of our eight instant game service co-operations in Germany, we have helped increase instant game acceptance relative to revenues for these lotteries by 203 percent on average.

“We are able to deliver customer-centric innovation for instant products at scale, and that's the foundation of our CSP success."

Shares in Scientific Games Corporation (Co. Data) (NASDAQ:SGMS) closed up 2.90 per cent at $11.00 per share in New York Thursday.
