Michael Sweeney has been appointed executive director of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission, where he will be tasked with engaging "next-generation" players and creating new revenue sources.
The appointment was announced by Massachusetts Treasurer Deborah Goldberg, with Sweeney serving as interim executive director of the state lottery since the departure of Beth Bresnahan at the end of June.
