The auditor general of New Brunswick has recommended that the New Brunswick Lotteries and Gaming Corporation (NBLGC) perform due diligence procedures for future investments similar to Geonomics, after the Canadian provincial lottery operator recorded a loss of approximately CAD$4.3m through its participation in the investment.

In her latest report to the legislative assembly, auditor general Kim MacPherson said that the BNLGC had made questionable decisions such as participating in the Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s (ALC) Geonomics investment, and knowingly allowing overpayment errors to several First Nations to continue.
