Germany’s Lotto and Toto Block (DLTB) has used the publication of its full-year results as an opportunity to call on the country’s government to crack down against illegal operators in the gaming market.

DLTB's figures show that total sales for Germany’s 16 state lotteries rose by almost 5 per cent to €7.3bn in 2015, with a total of €2.9bn generated for the state and social causes. Of this sum, €1.6bn was directed to projects in culture, sports, social initiatives, as well as the maintenance of national monuments and environmental causes, with more than a quarter going to sports.
