NetEnt has been named an associate member of the World Lottery Association (WLA), allowing the Swedish casino games specialist to continue to target the association’s members as it looks to grow its client base.

The WLA promotes the interests of state-authorised lottery businesses worldwide, and has named NetEnt an associate member in part due to its work with customers such as Lottomatic and Danske Spil, both existing members.

NetEnt’s membership could help the company add additional WLA members as clients, described as “a customer segment of strategic importance” to the company.

The WLA counts state lottery and gaming organisations from more than 80 countries among its members, with numerous high-profile suppliers already listed as associate members including Novomatic, Kambi, Playtech and NYX among others.

These companies are required to adhere to the strictest standards of social responsibility, responsible gaming, security and risk management.

“Online casino is about entertainment and excitement and the WLA associate membership is an important quality stamp to NetEnt as we are committed to safe and responsible gaming,” NetEnt president and chief executive Per Eriksson commented.

“NetEnt’s strategy is to expand on regulated markets and becoming associate members of WLA is a significant step for us as we grow our presence further in this important market segment,” he explained.

Shares in NetEnt AB (Co.Data) (STO:NET-B) were trading up 0.17 per cent at SEK484.40 per share in Stockholm this morning.
