The Massachusetts State Lottery has extended its long-running instant games contract with Scientific Games for a further 12 months.

The supplier has been the primary instant game and marketing services provider for the Massachusetts Lottery for nearly 30 years.

The lottery recently celebrated five consecutive years of record-breaking instant game sales, with results up by 19 per cent in the product category since 2010 through its work with Scientific Games.

In its most recent financial year, instant win games represented 69 per cent of the lottery’s total retail sales of $5.23bn, equivalent to around $3.6bn.

“We are extremely proud of what we have accomplished together,” said John Schulz, senior vice president of instant products for Scientific Games. “The Massachusetts Lottery is the best in the world when it comes to instant game sales.

“Many of the lottery industry's best practices have been created and fine-tuned through our work in Massachusetts. We could not be more honoured to be a part of this legendary success.”

Shares in Scientific Games Corporation (Co. Data) (NASDAQ:SGMS) closed in New York Thursday up 5.06 per cent at $10.80 per share.
