Athens-listed lottery and gaming provider Intralot has signed an extension to its long-term lottery supply arrangement with Greek gaming operator OPAP.

The new three-year contract for the supply of numerical lottery products and related services has been signed ahead of the expiry of the current supply deal in 2018 and  includes a two year renewal option.

It will see Intralot supply OPAP with an updated lottery platform and introduce a number of commercial improvements to the operator's lottery offering over the coming years.

The companies have worked together for decades, with Intralot originally serving as OPAP's sole technology supplier. This relationship has changed in recent years as part of a €100m overhaul of the operator's technology and systems, which has seen Intralot joined by additional partners such as Novomatic Lottery Solutions, Betgenius and Playtech BGT Sports.

"I am pleased to be announcing the extension of our cooperation with Intralot, which remains one of our strategic partners," OPAP chief executive Damian Cope said. "Our technology strategy is progressing well as we continue to establish greater control and flexibility over our digital and technological environment.

"We are working closely with all our technology partners in order to deliver our 2020 Vision and transform the role of technology within the organisation for the benefit of the company and our customers."

Intralot chief executive Antonios Kerastaris added: "We are very pleased about the continuation of our relationship with OPAP. This allows Intralot to provide to one of our most valued customers our latest innovations in lottery products and services.

"I would like to thank OPAP for the trust in our company. Our experienced team will closely cooperate with OPAP in the new period to help the company meet its strategic objectives."

Shares in Intralot S.A (ASE:INLOT) were trading up 3.92 per cent at €1.06 per share in Athens Thursday morning.
