Athens-listed lottery and gaming solutions provider Intralot has signed a supply contract with Camelot Illinois, the Camelot Global subsidiary that operates the Illinois State Lottery as private manager.

The multi-year contract will see Intralot supply Camelot Illinois with a range of system solutions and a full-suite of lottery products through to October 2027, with the contract worth $340m for Intralot over the full term.

Intralot will roll out its clerk-operated Photon terminals across the lottery's 7,500 retail locations, alongside ticket-checking solution Genion and WinStation 30, a player-operated touchscreen terminal.

This will be supported by a range of related services and hardware, including a retail communication network and call centre management.

The new partnership comes as Camelot Illinois takes over operation of the state lottery from Northstar Lottery Group, which had its private management contract terminated in 2015, effective January 2017.

Camelot was named the new manager in September and aims to transition to the Intralot systems in December 2018.

"We are delighted to have been awarded this long-term contract to serve the State of Illinois and Camelot Illinois," John Donahue, chief executive of Intralot's US subsidiary Intralot Inc, said.

"We have been a successful technology partner with Camelot elsewhere in the world, and together we will prove to be the right combination for the State of Illinois Lottery."

Shares in Intralot S.A. (ASE:INLOT) were trading down 2.17 per cent at €1.45 per share in Athens Friday morning, having initially climbed to set a new 52-week high of €1.51 per share.
