Independent games developer The Games Company (TGC) has launched Lucky 8 Keno, a new online title for Canadian lottery operator Loto-Québec.

Lucky 8 Keno is a traditional keno game with a twist, offering players the chance to multiply their winnings by eight if the golden dragon mascot chooses a player's number with the final drawn ball.

It is the first title to be rolled out under a strategic partnership between TGC and Loto-Québec, brokered by iGaming consultancy Pixiu Gaming.

The partnership is aimed at developing and enhancing Loto-Quebec's iGaming offering with new, casino-focused content. Pixiu has been retained by Loto-Québec to source new content for its iGaming offering for the past three years.

"Pixiu has been working closely with the team at Loto-Québec to build a range of games that bridges the divide between land-based casino and Loto-Québec's interactive offering," Pixiu founder Tony Plaskow explained.

"Having identified keno as a key, underserviced category on we have worked with TGC to deliver what we believe is an enjoyable and rewarding game experience."

TGC managing director Hans Winkelmann commented: "We are delighted to have worked with Pixiu and Loto-Québec to help develop this exciting range of games. The Canadian market is growing rapidly with huge long-term opportunities for our strategic partnership."

Loto-Québec director of online operations Robert Lalonde added that the lottery has formed a strong working relationship with Pixiu and TGC and looks forward to more successful launches in the future.
