Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS), the Switzerland-based body that helps state lottery operators stamp out sports-related corruption, has welcomed Russia's Stoloto as its newest member.

Stoloto joins ahead of the FIFA World Cup which begins in Russia later this week, contributing local intelligence to aid GLMS' efforts in monitoring betting markets for unusual activity.

"The addition of a member like Stoloto will further enhance the efficiency of our operations," GLMS president Ludovico Calvi said.

"Stoloto, with its GLMS membership, further proves its commitment to sustainable sports betting operations, safeguarding sports values and contributing to the enhancement of the quality and depth of GLMS services."
