China’s lottery market benefited from the closing stages of the FIFA World Cup which boosted total sales by 62 per cent to RMB54.44bn (€7.06bn) in July.
Following a record performance in June, also due to the World Cup, sales of the Sports Lottery soared 118 per cent to RMB35.53bn, while Welfare Lottery sales climbed 10 per cent to RMB19.11bn.
