West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has appointed John Myers as the new director of the state lottery.
Myers returns to the West Virginia Lottery after serving as the Secretary of Administration for the Justice Administration since January 2017.
He replaces the lottery’s former director Alan Larrick, who resigned at the beginning of the month, having overseen the successful roll-out of sports betting in the state.
Myers previously worked for the lottery for nine years between 2008 to 2017, including as acting director between 2015 and 2017. Prior to his career in public service, Myers served as manager of corporate administration at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Buffalo, West Virginia.
He has also served as chairman of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, and as president of the Point Pleasant and Logan Lions Clubs.
