Washington DC Council voted Tuesday in favour of a bill to bypass standard procurement rules in connection with the recently approved Sports Wagering Lottery Amendment Act of 2018.

The Sports Wagering Procurement Practices Reform Exception Act of 2019 passed by a vote of eight to four on Tuesday with one abstention, allowing the DC Lottery to award the sports betting systems contract to existing partner Intralot without competitive bidding.
