People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the animal rights organisation, has called on the Maricopa County attorney and the U.S attorney general to open criminal investigations after uncovering “rampant” illegal high-stakes gambling on pigeon races across a number of states.
PETA released the results of its 15-month undercover investigation on Monday, which involved some of the largest pigeon-racing operations taking place across five U.S states including New York and Arizona.
