The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has confirmed that it will not oppose Tabcorp Group’s proposed acquisition of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) state betting agency ACTTAB.

Tabcorp agreed a deal to purchase ACTTAB for AUD$105.5m (US$92m) at the end of July, prompting the ACCC's public review of the acquisition.

The review focused on whether the acquisition would result in Tabcorp offering customers less favourable odds, charging higher commission fees, or otherwise degrading the quality of its wagering products.
