German state lottery operator Westdeutsche Lotteriegesellschaft (WestLotto) has introduced video-based identity verification in a bid to simplify the process for new customers.
The solution, provided by Berlin-based ID verification software provider WebID, is designed to enable WestLotto’s online players to register in just a few minutes.
This ensures compliance with German customer registration requirements using any smartphone, tablet or desktop computer with a webcam, together with the player's identity document.
