Football Pools operator Sportech confirmed Friday that it has received a proposal from Contagious Gaming to acquire the London-listed gaming operator, although the company’s board has advised shareholders to take no action at this time.

Responding to recent press speculation, Sportech said that Contagious Gaming’s proposal would see the Toronto-listed operator acquire the whole of the issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of the company.

“Any recommended offer from Contagious Gaming, if made, would be at a premium to Sportech's current share price of 62.63p as at 13 August 2015 and would comprise a majority in cash and the balance in new Contagious Gaming shares,” said Sportech.
