California Assemblyman Adam Gray has proposed a constitutional amendment to allow legal sports betting in California.
This would amend Section 19 of Article IV of the California State Constitution to allow for detailed sports betting regulations, subject to the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA).
ACA 18 must secure a two-thirds majority in each house during the 2017-18 legislative session in order to pass, before being put to California voters in a statewide referendum.
