New York-listed casino operator Golden Entertainment has expanded its Nevada operations with the acquisition of Stratosphere Casino owner American Casino & Entertainment Properties (American) for $850m.

The agreement will see Golden (formerly Lakes Entertainment) take over ownership of American’s three properties in Las Vegas - the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower, Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder - as well as a fourth property, the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin.

This will add to Golden’s existing operations which include the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino, Gold Town Casino, and Lakeside Casino and RV Park in Nevada, as well as the Rock Gap Resort in Maryland.
