Malta-based games development studio Pragmatic Play has acquired Extreme Live Gaming, the live dealer subsidiary of Austria's Novomatic Group.
The acquisition enables Pragmatic Play to add live dealer games to its multi-product portfolio, which currently includes slots, scratchcards and bingo.
Extreme Live Gaming is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority, offering a range of desktop and mobile live dealer games from its London studios to clients such as Mr Green, Betsson, LeoVegas, BetVictor and Cherry's ComeOn. It was founded in 2013 and acquired by Novomatic in 2014.
"The name Extreme Live Gaming stands for quality and innovation, and we are delighted to enhance our multi-vertical gaming strategy with this acquisition, further cementing our position as a leading industry provider," Pragmatic Play chief commercial officer Melissa Summerfield said.
"The popularity of live casino has grown hugely in recent years, and the vertical holds a great deal of potential," she explained. "We have every confidence that our passion and drive for going beyond our clients and players' expectations will help us to realise that potential."
Extreme live Gaming chief executive Darwyn Palenzuela added: "We pride ourselves on providing groundbreaking live solutions both popular with players and profitable for our partners, and this acquisition will empower us to take our business to the next level."
